3 years after the international success of Missing: Since January, a second opus called Evidence: The Last Ritual is released in 2006.
The game has a similar concept, but features main innovations :
The journalist Jack Lorski and the profiler Gerd Hake have been tracking the Phoenix, a highly dangerous serial killer who committed crimes all over Europe, for 4 years. The body Jack Lorski, severely mutilated, is found in Scotland. His death sent a shockwave. The police gets a DVD-rom, quite similar to the one the Phoenix sent. It contains several movies of a young american girl looking for her missing brother. It also contains movies shot by Jack Lorski during his track. Their paths will eventually cross. A new tracking begins. Thousands investigators are mobilised. Among them, the Phoenix has a specific interest in you. Will you be the smarter one?
Inspired by esoteric images and drawings of mental patients, the artistic direction is much darker than the first opus. The graphics got a price at the Into the Pixel exhibition in Los Angeles.
Graphic Design: Gérald Obringer and Pierre-Guillaume Baret.
Just like Missing: Since January, the story is told through numerous films, shot in 5 countries (Spain, Portugal, United States, Canada and Scotland).
In Memoriam 1 and 2 won several international awards (Prix SACD, Imagina Awards, Into the pixel…).
The american editor had an actual realistic approach, making the packaging look like a police evidence blister pack. The second opus was better sold in the US than in Europe.
