Linking more than 20 sites, a unique transmedia experience
Eric Viennot was chosen by the French department of Aude to design a transmedia scenario for the tourists in the country of Cathars.
Eric spent one year travelling through the territory, visiting several sites: the city of Carcassonne, the famous Peyrepertuse and Quéribus castles, the numerous Abbeys like Fontfroide or Saint-Papoul, the mythical Montségur castle… More than 20 sites will stage a story Eric Viennot wants to anchor in modernity, while faithfully transcripting the story of this country, including the political and religious issues.

The transmedia project has several goals:
- To be a used as a cultural mediation, making the visitis more lively and playful.
- To create a link between all different sites and have a better understanding of their common history.
- To inform the tourists and suggest visits and itineraries.
- Eventually, thanks to gameplay and tools like geo-location or augmented reality, to engage visitors in a strong and coherent storyline, pushing them to visit more sites and extend their stay.
